Judokats Weightlifting Club is an official Saskatchewan Weightlifting Association training centre.  The Judokats club has its roots in a 2021 partnership between the judo club and the SWA.  Members were introduced to the olympic sport of weightlifting, not only to add strength and mobility training, but also give them an opportunity to participate in the 2023 Saskatchewan Winter Games!!

This program gives our judoka an opportunity to learn the sport of Olympic weightlifting. These classes cover the basics of the two Olympic lifts (Snatch, Clean and Jerk) as well as strength and mobility training.  Olympic weightlifting movements are some of the very best power training exercises to allow a fighter to improve their takedown, escape ability, and intermittent power endurance throughout a bout. Olympic lifts work the triple extension movement, kinetic chain, synchronized them to produce a dynamic movement, as often occur in Judo techniques.
